Engineering Manager

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced manager to oversee the work of six engineers. He/she will analyze the engineering for projects, including the preliminary design for bidding, and the final design, calculation and shop drawings before they are sent to the owner/contractor for final review and approval. He/she will utilize his knowledge of AASHTO and AREMA codes to ensure all submittals are in compliance both with the codes and with the project specifications. The Engineering Manager will play a key communications role both internally and externally in the overall management of the engineering process.

Job Requirements

The successful candidate will possess a Masters degree and be a registered Professional Engineer. He/she should have at least 3 years of experience working for a consulting engineering firm and at least 2 years of management experience. Excellent communication and multi-tasking are key components of this position as is the ability to consistently meet deadlines. Proficiency with computer software, including CAD, is essential.

Geotechnical Engineer

Job Description

We are looking for a Geotechnical Engineer interested in applying his/her knowledge to complex projects while answering to a high profile audience. He/she will begin with the project plans by reviewing the provided geotechnical information. Using his/her expertise, the Geotechnical Engineer will discuss recommendations or best practices with the owner/contractor on the project and advise the Neel Company engineer doing the actual drawings on what is needed to make the project a success. He/she will then stay involved in the project as needed to advise on backfill requirements, foundation issues, and site concerns.

Job Requirements

The successful candidate will possess an MS in Geotechnical Engineering and, preferably, have several years of experience. Familiarity with current getotechnical engineering software, flexibility, and multi-tasking are essential in this role.

Design/Project Engineer

Job Description

The Neel Company is seeking new team members to assist with our growing volume of work. Our Design/Project Engineers work as a team to ensure the feasibility, submission, fabrication, and construction of demanding projects for a high profile audience across the continental United States. He/she has the opportunity to work with state DOTs, railroads, consulting firms, government agencies, and construction contractors. He/she is responsible for a project from Concept to Completion.

Job Requirements

The successful candidate must possess a BS in Civil Engineering and either be a registered Professional Engineer or be eligible for registration in the US. He/she should have at least 2 years experience designing highway projects for a consulting engineering firm and understand contract drawings and specifications. Familiarity with AASHTO and AREMA codes is beneficial. He/she should have excellent communication skills and work well in a team environment. The Design/Project Engineer we are seeking should have strong organizational skills, be an effective multi-tasker, and be able to meet deadlines consistently. Proficiency with CAD, Excel, and Word is important.
